FRIDAY 18 OCTOBER 2013 9AM – 4.30PM FULL TICKET £30 This landmark departure was the start of the CPD REVOLUTION and marked the launch of our unbelievably good value Solicitors CPD training days as the next venture for the CLFS!
In true CLFS style we revisited the venue where this organisation began, and the people it began with. A smaller more intimate bash in the beer garden of one of London’s most notorious pubs steeped in East End criminal law history. Our friends joined us for a roller coaster ride as we went back to the Blind Beggar, Whitechapel. 80 guests.
We ushered in the wintry nights with a cut glass industry based event at the Wine Tun under the dome of St Paul’s Cathedral in the heart of the City. Our guests enjoyed tantalising welcome drinks, fabulous food, and quality company at our private mezzanine bar and lounge. With sincere thanks to our sponsors at Eximius Law.
We were welcomed by the luxurious staff of HMS President, a former Royal Navy ship now permanently moored on the River Thames by Blackfriars Bridge, well-known to our good friends in the Temple. We saw over 400 people in our industry enjoy a complimentary champagne reception and party the night away. Our appreciative clientele got stuck into our barbecued burgers on the top deck, and talked under the stars. A champagne hamper raffle was provided by our event sponsors, our colleagues at Law Staff recruitment agency, the Crime Duty Specialists.
Our first ‘formal’ event and yet so informal; champagne a plenty, an Indian buffet, table football, open air pool tables and big Connect Four. Old friends and new connections blended with “liquid ease”. Our non-hierarchical view manifested itself under summery blue skies as the CLFS was born. Counsel buying rounds, secretaries singing, the hosts on a roll and the decision
A New Year, and a new dawn as we befriended the Wine Tun, under the dome of St Paul’s, at our private mezzanine bar in the heart of the City. Far greater numbers enjoyed a champagne reception and superb catering with a more formal feel as we invited our first event sponsors on board who were LR Legal Recruitment.
A charming get-together under a blushing Autumn night. The original Philosophy Club ethos putting all invitees on one equal footing with rustic platters and yes…champagne on the house all round!! 60 guests.
